2001 Vintage wine

The 2001 vintage wines, a satisfying vintage with great wines. 2001 is a fairly late vintage due to bad weather at the end of summer, but remains of very good quality, even excellent for the Sauternes wines. Wines generally more tannic than in 2000 and long aging. The Bordeaux red wines are very good and the Saint Emilion partiularly exceptional. We recommend the Château Gruaud Larose 2001, Château Latour 2001, Château Margaux 2001 as well as Château Montrose 2001.The sweet white wines in Sauternes appellations are very successful : fine and elegant. The 2001 vintage is very good in Burgundy, the red wines are very satisfactory, the white wines from Côte de Beaune are intense. The 2001 vintage for Rhône wines is more successful in the Cornas and Côte Rôtie appellations.
