2001 Wine

2001 Wine

The wines of the 2001 vintage, a satisfying vintage with great wines. 2001 is a rather late vintage due to the bad weather at the end of summer, but remains of very good quality and even excellent for sweet wines. Generally more tannic wines than in 2000 and suitable for long aging. The red Bordeaux wines are very good and the Saint-Emilion wines are particularly exceptional, especially Château Ausone 2001. There are also great successes from other appellations. We particularly recommend the Château Gruaud Larose 2001, Château Latour 2001, Château Margaux 2001 as well as the Château Montrose 2001. The sweet white wines are well-crafted: fine and elegant. The 2001 vintage is very good in Burgundy, the red wines are very satisfying, and the white wines from the Côte de Beaune are intense. In the Rhône Valley, the vintage is more successful in the Cornas and Côte Rôtie appellations.
