Graves Classification - Classified Growth

The Classified Grands Crus of Graves. The Graves wine classification only concerns wines from the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Unlike the official 1855 Bordeaux Wine Classification which does not include dry white wines from the Médoc, the Graves classification applies to both red wines and dry white wines. Among the 16 classified growths in this classification, only Château Haut Brion has the distinction of also being a First Growth in the 1855 Médoc classification.

At the request of the Graves Appellation Defense Syndicate, INAO established in 1953 the non-revisable classification that includes 16 classified growths of Graves: Château Bouscaut, Château Carbonnieux, Domaine de Chevalier, Château Couhins, Château Couhins-Lurton, Château de Fieuzal, Château Haut-Bailly, Château Haut-Brion, Château Latour-Martillac, Château Laville-Haut-Brion, Château Malartic-Lagravière, Château La Mission-Haut-Brion, Château Olivier, Château Pape-Clément, Château Smith-Haut-Lafite, Château La Tour-Haut-Brion.
