Tom Cannavan January - 2008

This has a solid, dense, meat stock and black fruit nose. It is terrifically solid and relatively youthful in character. The palate has richness, and whilst the fruit is now pretty much submerged, it retains its balance and for drinking now, gives pleasure.

Mid ruby with tawny rim. Light and dusty. Correct and well balanced with strong mineral dusty notes but it desperately needs food!

Château La Mission Haut Brion
Château La Mission Haut Brion

Château la Mission Haut-Brion is a wine estate located in Talence, Gironde. Situated in the Pessac-Léognan AOC, it is classified as a grand cru in the Graves wine classification. The estate was purchased in 1983 by the Dillon family, owners of Haut Brion. It is undoubtedly this propensity to give everything at once that distinguishes the wines of La Mission Haut-Brion and attracts many tasters. It is also the heightened expression of the Graves de Pessac terroir. Throughout its aging process and as it matures, Mission Haut-Brion is always generous, constantly revealing itself fully. The hedonistic side of Mission Haut-Brion and the consistency of these qualities are particularities that make it very appealing. La Chapelle de la Mission Haut Brion is the estate's second wine.
