With a late and favorable spring and an almost tropical summer, the 1947 Bordeaux wines are excellent. 

In Bordeaux, the wines are generous, supple, ripe and fleshy. Often marked by acidity, they are nevertheless opulent and heady. Drink now, before the acidity dominates. The 1947 vintage includes many great wines. We particularly recommend Château Margaux 1947, Château Mouton Rothschild 1947, Château La Conseillante 1947, Petrus 1947, Château Ausone 1947, Château Cheval Blanc 1947... For Sauternes, it was a great year producing rich and ripe wines. Superb wines, but which may sometimes show a touch of acidity. Notable mentions include Château Climens 1947 and Château Suduiraut 1947.

In Burgundy, the weather conditions were excellent although harvests were not very abundant. Ripe wines with immediate appeal, but also good aging potential, which can still be good today. The Rhône wines are beautiful, generous and charming, well-structured with good aging potential. Still pleasant today. The Hermitage wines are particularly noteworthy.
