Nuits-Saint-Georges is an emblematic appellation of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, renowned for its great red wines made from Pinot Noir. Established in 1936, the AOC covers more than 300 hectares and includes 41 Premiers Crus, including the famous Les Saint-Georges, Les Vaucrains and Les Cailles. Its marl-limestone and stony soils give birth to structured, deep and elegant wines, marked by aromas of dark fruits, spices and a fine capacity for ageing. The best Nuits-Saint-Georges can be cellared for 15 to 20 years and more. Reference estates such as Henri Gouges, Robert Chevillon and Faiveley contribute to the reputation of this great Burgundy appellation.
