The wines of 1952, a very good vintage. In Bordeaux, it is considered a quality vintage, although disrupted by rainy weather during harvest. The wines from the Pomerol and Saint Emilion appellations are of superior quality, as well as the wines from Graves which are also very good. The best wines of this vintage are Château Cheval Blanc 1952, La Mission Haut Brion 1952, Château Montrose 1952 and Petrus 1952. In Burgundy, the red wines are of excellent quality. The August rains helped save the harvest, as the vines had endured a hot summer and intense drought. The 1952 vintage is a truly great vintage for Rhône wines.
