1952 Wine
The 1952 wines, an excellent vintage. In Bordeaux, it is considered a quality vintage although disturbed by rainy weather during harvest. The wines from Pomerol and Saint Emilion appellations are of superior quality, as well as the wines from Graves which are also very good. The best wines from this vintage are Château Cheval Blanc 1952, La Mission Haut Brion 1952, Château Montrose 1952 and Petrus 1952. In Burgundy, the red wines are of excellent quality. The August rains helped save the harvest, as the vines had endured a hot summer and intense drought. The 1952 vintage is an exceptional year for Rhône wines.
A wine from the 1952 vintage is an excellent choice for a birthday wine to celebrate a special event or a 70th birthday...
