Our opinion on the 1935 vintage: an exceptional year for white Burgundy wines. The wines from the 1935 vintage are simple and decent. The red wines from Bordeaux are light but lack some structure. The weather wasn't always favorable during 1935, resulting in rainy conditions during harvest. However, the Sauternes are rather good with a nice aromatic bouquet, such as the Château Filhot 1935. Note that this vintage was bottled just before the outbreak of World War II.

In Burgundy, the vintage is considered excellent for white wines, while for red wines, the quality is slightly lower but still remains good and very pleasant on the palate. The current vintage shows strong similarities with the previous year, namely 1934.

In the Rhône Valley, 1935 is not a very interesting vintage, except for Jean Louis Chave's Hermitage which is magnificent.
