The 1979 vintage offers us wines with great aging potential. 

In Bordeaux, despite the cold year, yields were good and wine quality met expectations. Pronounced tannins and nice acidity mean the wines have excellent aging potential. Margaux, Graves and Pomerol stand out slightly. Among the best wines of this vintage, we recommend Château Cos d'Estournel 1979, Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse 1979, Château Gruaud Larose 1979, Château Margaux 1979, La Mission Haut Brion 1979 and Petrus 1979...

In Burgundy, stormy weather conditions affected some wines. Although there are significant differences, there were some excellent successes. The best estate of 1979 is Domaine de La Romanée Conti 1979. In Champagne, the vintage was exceptional from the start.
