Champagne Salon

The Salon Champagne House is a French house created in 1920 by Eugène-Aimé Salon. Unlike other Champagnes from the region, the Salon house crafts its Champagnes without blending, focusing on a single grape variety: Chardonnay.

It was in 1905 that founder Aimé Salon produced 'Le Mesnil-sur-Oger' using a single grape variety: Chardonnay, and from a single cru and vintage: 1905. An iconic and prestigious wine. Long kept for himself, it wasn't until 1920 that he decided to commercialize this wine and establish his estate.

Today, the production of Champagnes remains the same: crafted with grapes from the best Chardonnay plots for a 100% Chardonnay wine. The Salon House still produces a single Champagne from a 1-hectare plot 'Jardins du Salon' and 19 other plots in Mesnil-sur-Oger. The Champagnes are aged for ten years in cellars before revealing their complexity and finesse. Throughout the 20th century, the House produced 37 vintages. Among the most successful are the vintages 1905, 1966, 1995, 1996, 1997...

The Salon Champagne House was acquired by the Laurent-Perrier group, which also owns the Delamotte Champagne house with whom Salon shares its premises.
