Our opinion on the 1912 vintage: a satisfactory vintage overall. The 1912 vintage is of average quality in the Bordeaux region. Weather conditions were variable, with a hot May while August was cool. Bordeaux red wines are soft and delicate but are not suitable for long aging. The 1912 red wines from the Burgundy wine region are highly sought after today. Long forgotten or neglected, the red wines are frank in taste, fruity and with character. Unfortunately, in Burgundy, frost compromised the vintage, making the wines uninteresting. In Champagne, yield doubled, but quality decreased. Only Piper-Heidsieck offers a 1912 vintage. Finally, in the Rhône Valley, the 1912 vintage is average, and like the 1912 Bordeaux wines, they do not have great aging potential.
