In general, the 2022 vintage was marked by summer drought and climatic hazards, but this did not prevent most French regions from regaining respectable volumes after particularly lean years.

The 2022 Bordeaux wine is a great success with red wines reaching a remarkable level of quality. The sweet wines, although a bit more varied, are sometimes superb.

The 2022 Burgundy red wines, from north to south, are generally very successful, displaying a deep color, dense flesh, and intensely fruity aromatic profiles.

Regarding Rhône wines, it's not surprising that the whites, such as in Condrieu, have fleshy bodies and lack a bit of acidity but possess a charming aromatic profile with spicy accents. The 2022 Rhône red wines generally present a concentrated profile without falling into the excesses of ripeness observed in older solar vintages like 2003.

The Alsace wines show a nice deliciousness which will allow them to be enjoyed rather quickly. The Gewurztraminers and Muscats display a certain aromatic power, offering often broad wines, while the Rieslings have managed to retain a nice freshness and therefore interesting balances. As for red wine, the Pinot Noirs have reached nice levels of ripeness, often offering juices with great fruity intensity and ripe, structuring tannins.
