Richebourg is a controlled designation of origin (AOC) from Burgundy. The appellation also has the European Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) label. The vineyard covers nearly 8 hectares, on the localities of Le Richebourg and Les Verriolles. The grape variety harvested there is exclusively Pinot Noir. The climate is slightly temperate with a continental tendency. The complexity of the wines of the Richebourg appellation is due to the fact that the vine tends to suffer from the climate.
Under the Richebourg appellation, we find the prestigious Domaine de la Romanée Conti, as well as major producers of Burgundy wines such as the Maison Leroy, Méo-Camuzet, Jean-Pierre Mugneret, Jean Grivot and Liger domains Belair. The Grands Crus and Premiers Crus wines of the Richebourg appellation often have a long aging potential. In general, there are about ten years before tasting, sometimes even 20 to 30 years.
