Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Violets, roses, raspberries, and red cherries emanate from the 2003 Richebourg. Full-bodied, deep, and hugely concentrated, it is muscular, firm and displays the firmest structure of the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti’s 2003s. Soy sauce, tar, chocolate, and dark fruits are found in its focused, audacious personality. Its impressively persistent finish is studded with highly present tannin.

Fat, fleshy, flashy and filled with lush, ripe and over ripe black raspberries, cherries, wild strawberries and licorice, the wine is silky and even sexy. Still young, this should be a stellar wine with additional bottle age.

Jancis Robinson February - 2006

(2-2006) Quite bright, intense crimson – notably darker than the less grand Domaine de la Romanée-Conti wines. Very compost and autuimn on the nose! Medium intensity of bouquet. Very flattering richness of fruit on the front palate though so far without great weight and intensity underneath. Good balance – tannins quite sufficient to keep this well though without aggressive dryness. One is aware of alcohol. Like the Romanée St-Vivant, this wine has a real liveliness to it. Great taffeta crunch. It would be a shame to drink this still quite simple wine too young. This still has quite a way to go.

Falstaff January - 2008

Amazingly dark color, dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, delicate ocher rim. On the nose fresh plum fruit, delicately raisiny, fine spice notes. On the palate substantial and long, has a wonderful extract sweetness, rich in silky-sweet tannin, very complex, long lingering, in its rather baroque style already very seductive.

Domaine Romanée Conti
Domaine Romanée Conti

The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is one of the most emblematic wine estates in Burgundy and an absolute reference among the great wines of the world. Its history is intimately linked to the greatest climats of Vosne-Romanée, of which it is the exclusive or quasi-exclusive custodian. The estate notably cultivates exceptional grands crus, including Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Grands Échézeaux, Échézeaux, as well as the celebrated Montrachet for white wines.

The Romanée-Conti, a climat classified as Grand Cru, forms the historical and symbolic heart of the estate. Owned by the domaine since the 18th century, this monopole vineyard embodies an exacting vision of wine, founded on precision, faithfulness to the terroir and extremely rigorous viticulture. The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is renowned for its constant pursuit of balance and purity of expression, favoring very low yields and meticulous vineyard work.

Emblematic vintages such as Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1942, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1964, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1985, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1986, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1990, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2000, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2005, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2006, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2011, illustrate the estate's ability to produce wines of remarkable depth, capable of spanning decades while maintaining an exceptional legibility of their origin. The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti thus remains an essential reference for understanding the excellence and singularity of the great wines of Burgundy.
