The wines from the 2015 vintage are generally rich, ripe and fruity. They have a beautiful concentration and well-integrated tannins. Many wines are accessible and pleasant to drink in their youth, but they also have good aging potential.
The 2015 vintage was particularly successful in the Bordeaux region, especially on the Right Bank where Merlot grapes benefited from ideal conditions, producing rich, smooth wines with great depth. The Burgundy region produced concentrated, elegant red wines with beautiful fruit expression and excellent balance. Finally, the Rhône Valley was also very successful, with powerful and deep Syrahs that show great freshness and finesse.
These are the three regions where climatic conditions allowed for optimal grape ripeness, resulting in exceptional wines.
The 2015 vintage is considered excellent in many French wine regions, notably in Bordeaux, Burgundy, and the Rhône. Thanks to ideal weather conditions, the red wines from this year show structure, richness, and balance, offering them a very good aging potential (10 to 30 years depending on the regions and estates). The white wines and champagnes are also successful, with a more moderate aging capacity.
