Our opinion on the 1936 vintage: a satisfactory year for sweet wines. The 1936 vintage wines in Bordeaux are rather average. Although there were no great successes, the best Bordeaux Châteaux nevertheless produced decent wines. This 1936 vintage can still offer pleasant surprises. The 1936 Sauternes wines are of slightly higher quality than the Bordeaux red wines, although it remains quite variable. 

However, in Burgundy, the 1936 vintage was insignificant in terms of both quantity and quality.

In the Rhône Valley, bad luck prevailed, making it the most difficult decade of the century.
