1980 Wine
Grand Cru from 1980, vintage wine from 1980. A very late vintage with unconvincing results in the Bordeaux region. Nevertheless, there are some exceptional wines from Château Margaux. The red wines are generally satisfactory. The best wines of this vintage are Château Pichon Comtesse 1980, Château Talbot 1980, Château Cheval Blanc 1980, Petrus 1980... The Sauternes are excellent, such as Château d'Yquem 1980 and Château Climens 1980, which offer fine and very successful wines. In Burgundy, the red wines are good but uneven depending on the estates. In the Rhône Valley, the wines are of average quality. However, the Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Hermitage appellations are slightly superior.
