1939 Wine
The 1939 wines, a significantly better vintage in Sauternes. In Bordeaux, weather conditions were average. The harvest went well with mild weather. The Bordeaux red wines from the 1939 vintage are fresh, fruity, generally correct and have aged rather well over the years. Among the most successful ones, we note the Château Mouton Rothschild 1939 or the Château Haut Brion 1939. The 1939 Sauternes are among the finest achievements of this vintage. Sweet and fruity, the sweet wines are clearly to be favored, such as Château d'Yquem 1939.
