Our opinion on the 1903 vintage: a complicated vintage. The beginning of the century was difficult in Bordeaux, particularly in 1903 which proved to be in the same line as the two previous vintages. Despite abundant harvests, the wine quality was affected by a cold and poorly sunny year. As a result, it is currently difficult to find Bordeaux wines from that year because merchants quickly sought to sell them off, given their lack of interest over time. The 1903 Sauternes experienced similar quality issues, making their availability very rare.

In Burgundy, the 1903 vintage did not help the region, which was already in crisis. The wines produced that year are described as flat and bony, and the few available testimonials are hardly flattering.

The 1903 Champagne was not a great success either, although it was better than the two previous vintages. The great Champagne houses did not risk releasing vintage champagne that year.

Finally, in the Rhône Valley, or elsewhere in France, the 1903 wines will not be memorable.
