1957 Wine
The 1957 vintage, contrasted but of good quality. In Bordeaux, the vines experienced rather changeable weather conditions with a mild February, hot March, frosts in April until the harvest with a terribly hot September. This resulted in green wines with an acidity that allowed them to age well. The best wines of this vintage are: Château Lafite Rothschild 1957, showing wonderfully harmonious; especially in the Graves region with the estates Château Haut Brion 1957, and La Mission Haut Brion 1957. In Burgundy, the weather was cool and rainy. The wines are flavorful, with a strong acidity that allows them to maintain a sparkling vibrancy over the years. A special mention is noted for the Grands Echézeaux.
