The best wines of this vintage are: Château Lafite Rothschild 1920, Château Latour 1920, Château Mouton Rothschild, and Château Cheval Blanc. In the Sauternes region, there are beautiful successes like Château d'Yquem 1920: fine, rich, and unctuous. 1920 is a good start for the best decade of Burgundy. However, the region experienced some bad weather during the year. The harvest took place under good conditions but resulted in a low yield. The greatest estates produced balanced and fruity red wines. The appellations Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin, and Chambolle Musigny stand out with wines of superior quality.
