1920 Wine
The 1920 wines, an exceptional vintage for Bordeaux vineyards. 1920 is a legendary year in Bordeaux, with subtle and elegant wines. All the Bordeaux 1920 grand crus are exceptional. The best wines of this vintage are: Château Lafite Rothschild 1920, Château Latour 1920, Château Mouton Rothschild and Château Cheval Blanc. In the Sauternes region, beautiful successes like Château d'Yquem 1920: fine, rich and smooth. 1920 marks a good start to Burgundy's best decade. However, the region experienced some bad weather during the year. The harvest took place under good conditions but resulted in low yields. The greatest estates produced balanced and fruity red wines. The Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin and Chambolle Musigny appellations stand out with superior quality wines.
