Romanée-Conti is one of the most prestigious Grands Crus de Bourgogne and an absolute reference among the great French wines. Located in the village of Vosne-Romanée, in the Côte de Nuits, this appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC), established in 1936, is operated as a monopoly by the celebrated Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC). With only 1.81 hectares of vines planted with Pinot Noir, it ranks among the rarest and most sought-after vineyards in the world. Its exceptional terroir of clay-limestone soils produces wines of remarkable finesse, combining depth, aromatic complexity, elegance and exceptional length. The wines of Romanée-Conti Grand Cru possess an extraordinary ageing potential, capable of evolving for several decades. The great vintages such as 1945, 1978, 1990, 1999, 2005 and 2010 are among the most sought-after by collectors and lovers of old Burgundy wines.
