Château Doisy Daene

Château Doisy Daene

Château Doisy Daene is a Bordeaux wine estate located in the commune of Barsac. Doisy Daene produces both a grand vin, which is a second growth of Sauternes in the official 1855 classification, as well as a dry white Bordeaux, the 'Grand Vin Sec de Doisy Daene'. Over three generations, the vineyard has grown from 4 to 16 hectares of vines. The vineyard benefits from the magnificent terroir characteristic of the Barsac plateau: clay-sand soils and a limestone bedrock. The grape varieties are mainly Sauvignon Blanc (40%) and Sémillon (60%).

The grand vin of Château Doisy Daene has a beautiful intensity and is strongly marked by botrytis. Notes of candied fruit aromas reveal its elegant character. The whole is remarkably balanced, despite the wine's richness. The best vintages are 1929, 1947, 1949, 1950, and 1959. You can also favor the Château Doisy Daene 1983, Doisy Daene 1988, as well as the Doisy Daene 2005 which, despite its youth, is excellent.
