Expert's opinions

Château Haut Bailly 2009 : Yes, yes, and yes, indeed! It is simply brilliant. Elegant, fresh, ripe, rich, sweet, polished, refined, long and deep, everything here hits the right notes from nose to palate to finish. Still young, everything depends on its future greatness.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Château Montrose 1996 : It was served with the 1986 Montrose, however, this is a much better wine and reconfirms Robert Parker’s remarks at his own vertical at the estate in 2014. For me, it’s that loamy character that defines the nose – freshly ploughed, damp soil that tinges black fruit – that takes you straight to this particular chateau. It’s classic through and through and very well defined. The palate is wonderful with beautiful delineation, perfect acidity, touches of graphite infusing the red and black fruits that meld into a very pretty floral finish. This is clearly one of the greatest wines of the 1996 vintage and I’d stock up on as much as I can, as it will please for 30-40 years.
