This wine comes from a small 13-acre vineyard. It is a structured blend that has a fine percentage of Cabernet Franc. With its ripe, rounded character, the wine should develop well.

Roses, chocolate-covered plums, smoke, licorice, and scorched earth form the perfume. On the palate, the wine is long, rich, silky, fresh, and loaded with layers of dark cocoa-covered plums, licorice and black cherries, There is more richness than you normally find here, along with silky-tannins, lift, and opulence in the finish. A bit more Cabernet in the blend really made a difference this year. The wine blends 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2026-2042.

The Certan de May vineyard, one of the highest in the appellation, is adjacent to Petrus.
The Certan de May vineyard is composed of old vines, with an average age of thirty years, planted on clay-gravel soil. Harvested late and thus benefiting from the full maturity of the grapes, this Pomerol proves to be of a very high standard. Its well-balanced, rich and complex wines combine woody and fruity aromas (cherries, blackcurrant,... ). The aging potential is impressive in great vintages.
