Château Trotanoy
Château Trotanoy is a Bordeaux wine estate located in Pomerol and Lalande-de-Pomerol. In the Pomerol appellation, the estate exclusively produces red wines. The vineyard of Château Trotanoy covers an area of 7.2 hectares with vines averaging 35 years of age. The grape varieties consist of Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Franc (10%). The wines of Château Trotanoy have immense depth. Long-lasting, the wines are consistent.
Among the best vintages, favor the 1945, 1947, 1982, and 1989 vintages. We also recommend the Trotanoy 1995, the Château Trotanoy 1998, or the Trotanoy 2009.

This illustrious estate, whose name meant "too annoying" or "too troublesome" in old French (referring to working the soil), is located on one of the best-exposed parts of the famous Pomerol plateau and was acquired in 1953 by Etablissements Jean-Pierre MOUEIX, who have been operating it since. The mixed soils – half gravel over clay and half deep black clay – on a bed of iron deposits give the wine both power and depth as well as great complexity. Harvesting is done traditionally (regular plowing, thinning, leaf removal) and ideally collected over two or three afternoons. Fermentation takes place in concrete vats, and the young wine is then aged in oak barrels, half of which are renewed each year. Château TROTANOY is among the most sought-after wines of the appellation and can be kept for several decades in great vintages.
