Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is located in the village of Chambolle-Musigny in Burgundy. It is one of the most renowned producers in the Côte d'Or and produces wines that are still sold at high prices today.
Domaine Comte George de Vogüé is one of the oldest estates in Burgundy, with its history dating back to the mid-15th century when Jean Moisson built the original building.
The Vogüé family name first appeared in 1766. Since then, generations of heirs have succeeded one another at the head of the estate. Count George de Vogüé inherited the estate from his father in 1925 and ran it with passion and determination for more than 60 years, making it an emblem of Burgundy.
His daughter Elisabeth, Baroness de Ladoucette, now manages the estate with the help of her granddaughters. She has surrounded herself with an exceptional team to continue producing wines of the highest quality.
Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé cultivates 12 hectares of vines and owns 70% of the total area of Chambolle-Musigny, including the majority of Musigny Grand Cru and all of Petits Musigny.
It also owns several magnificent crus such as Chambolle-Musigny 1er cru "Les Amoureuses", Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru and Musigny blanc, the unique white wine from the Côte de Nuits whose tradition they alone maintain.
The vineyard is planted on stony soils composed of clay and limestone, and it is managed using sustainable farming methods with great respect for biodiversity.
The grape varieties consist of Burgundy's emblematic varieties: 100% Pinot Noir for red wines and 100% Chardonnay for white wines.
Today, Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue is known for producing legendary red and white wines, characterized by their finesse and aromatic complexity. These wines are renowned for their consistency, finesse, and high aging potential.
The red wine with the Chambolle-Musigny appellation is one of the most expensive and sought-after wines in its appellation.
The wines of Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé are the jewel of Burgundy wines, with some exceptional vintages: Comte Georges de Vogüé 1945, 1947, 1961, 1962, 1966, 1971, 1978, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1995, 1997, 2000, 2002, 2005, 2010, 2012, 2015.
