CHÂTEAU LA MISSION HAUT BRION Blanc 2010

Optimal tasting window: 2013-2053

Tasting Notes: Pale yellow robe with vivid green highlights. The initial impression on the nose is somewhat reserved, but its remarkable intensity develops with aeration. The wine has a pronounced mineral character on the palate, with notes of flint and graphite. It is full-bodied and long on the palate, with a firm structure thanks to good acidity. Its aromatic finish seems to last forever! Château La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc 2010 has all the hallmarks of an elegant wine with excellent ageing potential.

Grape Variety/Blend: 81% Sémillon & 19% Sauvignon Blanc (variations are possible from one vintage to another)

Ageing: Oaked

Food and Wine Pairing: Meaty and rich fish

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
It took some coaxing to bring out the reticent notes of citrus, lemon, lime, orange, white peach, flowers and honeysuckle. Rich, intense and full on the palate. The wine offers a blast of minerality and fresh, crisp, yellow citrus with a dab of honey on the palate and in the finish. If you are lucky enough to have a bottle or two in your cellar, wait a decade or so before popping a cork.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
A staggeringly rich blend of 81% Semillon and the rest Sauvignon Blanc, this full-throttle, impressively endowed wine has good acidity, with hints of candle wax, mandarin orange marmalade, caramelized melons and lemon oil. It is a stunner and should last 30-40 more years.

Yellow-green color. Fine, subtle, fruity, lemony, truffled and beautiful nose! Superb rich entry on the palate, where the wine develops aromatic, taut with a subtle hint of lime. Juicy, complex and rich, it melts on the palate with incredible grace. It is a delight in which it is impossible to identify the aromatic traces of the grape varieties. Blend: 81% Sémillon and 19% Sauvignon. Yield 39 hl/ha; Alcohol 14.3°; pH 3.11.

Château La Mission Haut Brion
Château La Mission Haut Brion

Château La Mission Haut-Brion is one of the most emblematic estates of Pessac-Léognan, recognized for the depth, longevity and singularity of its red and white wines. Classified as Cru Classé de Graves, the château shares with its illustrious neighbor Château Haut-Brion an ancient history and an exceptional terroir, while asserting its own stylistic identity, often described as more powerful and more earthy.

Planted on deep gravel soils mixed with clays and sands, the vineyard benefits from a grape variety dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot for the reds, complemented by Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc for the whites. This diversity allows for precise blends, giving birth to wines of great aromatic intensity, structured, but always balanced.

Since its integration into the Dillon family, La Mission Haut-Brion has undergone an exemplary modernization of its facilities while maintaining a respectful approach to the terroir. Vinifications are conducted with great precision, aiming to preserve the expression of the soil and the purity of the fruit.

Major vintages such as Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1947, Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1949, Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1955, Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1982, Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1989, Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1990, Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2000, Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2010, illustrate the estate's capacity to produce exceptional wines for aging, sought after on the great collection wines market and recognized for their remarkable evolution over the decades.
