Very impressed with how wonderfully this wine has evolved after 17 years! Nose is gorgeous and layered with cassis, savory herbs and blackberry fruit just starting to sweeten. Tannins are supple and suave and the finish very long.

Jean-Marc Quarin December - 2007

Not decanted. Beautiful dark red color. Intense, deep, complex and slightly woody nose. Superb wine in the mid-palate, juicy, flavorful and full-bodied which takes on a violet flavor and evokes Burgundy. Great powerful and unmissable finish. Refined tannin. 16.75 Decanted. The palate is richer, fuller, juicier and more powerful than the non-decanted. Very enveloped tannin, accompanied by lots of flavor. Great persistence, slightly woody.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Nice wine here, with load of fresh, ripe, sweet, spicy, earthy, dark red fruits, with a side of smoke, tobacco, cigar wrapper, wet earth, thyme and cedar. Elegant, refined and soft, enjoy this now, or give it a few more years.

There is a sense of pent-up energy with this wine. It has powerful fruit along with flavors of chocolate, but it is all masked and repressed by tight firm tannins. A wine that will develop slowly.

Big roasted, charry toasted oak on the nose with a deep core of cassis. On the palate it is concentrated and quite rich, with spice and pepper elements over sweet, glossy black fruits. This has decent tannins and is made in a bold, forward style for earlier drinking.

RVF Magazine Rich and full, but with an already evolved note. The palate lacks flesh in its middle.

Jancis Robinson May - 2017

Black cherry, cassis, the fruit seems quite baked. Finishes with a strong bitter juniper note. Less interesting and complex than their 2001. Charming and classic, with a tight, restrained character that has more than a touch of austerity in its structure.
