The vineyard covers an area of 41 hectares for red and 6 hectares for white, situated on an excellent terroir, on a deep ridge. The wines are in constant progress, ensuring a very high level for both Malartic Lagravière red and Lagravière white. The grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot.
For a wine tasting or to offer, the best vintages are 1990, 1995 and 2000. Also, we suggest the Château Malartic Lagravière 2003 and the Château Malartic Lagravière 2005.

The Domaine de Lagravière, located on an exceptional terroir, was acquired at the end of the 18th century by the family of Count Hippolyte de Maurès de Malartic. The estate was renamed Malartic-Lagravière in honor of the former owners.
In 1947, Jacques Marly took over the management of the estate and ran it until 1990.
In 1990, the estate was acquired by Laurent-Perrier Champagne. The vines were well-maintained, but renovation and improvement projects were necessary to produce wines worthy of the grand cru status.
In 1997, the estate was purchased by Brussels natives Alfred-Alexandre and Michèle Bonnie. They began a complete restoration of the estate, which included the construction of a new winery and the restoration of the château.
The new winery, designed by architect Bernard Mazières, is an innovative building that follows the contours of the Malartic hillock to organize gravity-fed grape transport.
Château Malartic-Lagravière is situated on an exceptional terroir, the Malartic hillock, which is a high terrace deeply carved by the Eau Blanche stream and its tributaries. The soils of this terroir are composed of fine gravel, mixed with shell limestone and clay. These soils offer optimal conditions for vine cultivation, with highly permeable soil, optimal sunlight exposure, and reduced sensitivity to climatic variations.
The Château Malartic-Lagravière estate spans 73 hectares (66 for red, 7 for white), with the grape varieties composed of Merlot (56%), Cabernet Sauvignon (41%), Petit Verdot (3%), Cabernet Franc (1%) for the reds, and Sauvignon Blanc (78%), Sémillon (22%) for the whites.
The grapes are hand-harvested and vinified by plot. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in barrels. The wines are aged in barrels for 18 to 24 months before being bottled.
Château Malartic-Lagravière red is a wine with a beautiful, intense ruby color. On the nose, it exudes aromas of ripe red fruits, such as blackberry and plum. On the palate, it is powerful and fruity, with a long and delicate finish.
Château Malartic-Lagravière white is a wine of great freshness and finesse. On the nose, it expresses aromas of white fruits and citrus, with subtle notes of vanilla and almond. On the palate, it is balanced and harmonious, with a long and persistent finish.
Château Malartic-Lagravière also produces a second wine called "Le Comte de Malartic" and a third wine called "Réserve de Malartic", both available in red and white. They are made from younger vines using the same expertise as for the grand vin.
Among the finest successes, we recommend the vintages 1990, 1995, and 2000. We also recommend the Château Malartic-Lagravière 2003 and the Château Malartic-Lagravière 2005, which are excellent.
The red wines of Château Malartic-Lagravière pair wonderfully with truffle or porcini mushroom-based dishes, duck, and also with Camembert cheese with Calvados.
The white wines of Château Malartic-Lagravière pair very well with caviar, oysters, shellfish (langoustines, lobster), and fish (pike, trout).
