Medium deep ruby crimson. Surprisingly delicate perfume carries through from first impression to mid palate. Fragrant yet still pretty firm. Dryish finish.

Fabulous nose. Deep, complex with dark fruit, smoke, iron, olives and pepper. Just a wow palate, full bodied, rich, dense and juicy with excellent sweet fruit to balance the medium finish with nice tannins and some dryness. This is my fifth bottle of 6 and it has been consistently great since the first bottle in 2007. This is immediately ready to drink and the most mature bottle i have had. This has class.

Gorgeous, with velvety, plush black currant and plum fruit supported by very suave vanilla bean- and mocha java-tinged toast. Dense and long on the finish, with the toast caressing the fruit all the way through. Aromatic, richly flavored and balanced.

M. Chapoutier
M. Chapoutier
Since 1808, the Chapoutier name has existed in the Rhone Valley. The distant ancestor Polydor Chapoutier was the first to start buying vineyards, thus moving from being a winemaker of an estate to becoming a winegrower, wine producer and merchant. The pioneering spirit was already inscribed in the family. Since 1990, Michel, in his forties, has been at the head of an exceptional vineyard. A land rich in history and traditions. Passionate about the expression of soils, Michel gives his convictions the means to flourish. Breaking choices, to succeed in synthesizing the past with his own audacity. History of time. As it goes for each element of nature. Time and earth. The roots, the vine and the fruit. From there was born all the richness and generosity of Maison M. Chapoutier.
