Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The 2009 is a combination of pure power, concentration and great potential longevity. Michel Chapoutier considers the 2009s, which are all in bottle, to be among the greatest wines he has ever produced.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Massive, powerful, concentrated, intense, frightfully tannic and still young. The textures are like molten syrah that oozes all over your palate, teeth and gums, staining everything in its path. Based on previous vintages, this should require, if not demand another 20-25 more years before it sheds its youth, and morphs into the mature stage of life.

Falstaff November - 2015
Falstaff
Deep dark ruby red with violet reflections and a slightly watery rim. On the nose, a distinctly woody spice, along with black forest berries and fresh orange peel. An inviting spiciness in the background with tobacco notes. A powerful palate with emphasis on black berry fruits and plum notes, with a core of fruit sweetness and lively tannins. Some nougat and mineral notes on the finish, which still feels quite closed – still miles away from a first drinking window.

Jancis Robinson September - 2015
Jancis Robinson
Unusual nose. Hugely distinctive. Savoury finish. Well-managed tannins. Very assertive, ripe but not sweet fruit in the middle. Very appetising. Pure and clean.

M. Chapoutier
M. Chapoutier
Since 1808, the Chapoutier name has existed in the Rhone Valley. The distant ancestor Polydor Chapoutier was the first to start buying vineyards, thus moving from being a winemaker of an estate to becoming a winegrower, wine producer and merchant. The pioneering spirit was already inscribed in the family. Since 1990, Michel, in his forties, has been at the head of an exceptional vineyard. A land rich in history and traditions. Passionate about the expression of soils, Michel gives his convictions the means to flourish. Breaking choices, to succeed in synthesizing the past with his own audacity. History of time. As it goes for each element of nature. Time and earth. The roots, the vine and the fruit. From there was born all the richness and generosity of Maison M. Chapoutier.
