Dark color, medium intensity and evolved. Very aromatic nose, with ripe and smooth fruit. Quite subtle. Animal touch when swirled. Delicate entry on the palate where the wine caresses the palate, pleasant and flavorful. Finish barely marked by tannin. Medium body and length.

Château La Gaffelière

Château La Gaffelière is a 22-hectare wine estate located in Saint-Émilion in the Gironde department. In the Saint-Émilion AOC, it is classified as a Premier grand cru classé B in the latest Saint-Émilion wine classifications of 2006. Count Léo de Malet-Roquefort is the current owner of the estate. Château la Gaffelière is situated on the site of a former medieval leper hospital, where lepers, also known as "gaffets", were treated. The grape variety composition consists of 66% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Cabernet Franc. Château la Gaffelière is located between Pavie and Ausone, and produces a second wine made from young vines (less than 15 years old) called Clos La Gaffelière
