Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
It boasts a dense purple color along with a sumptuous nose of black raspberries, black currants, incense, camphor, licorice, and garrigue. Full-bodied, voluptuously-textured, exuberant, rich, and pure with stunning depth and concentration, it can be drunk young or cellared for 15-20 years.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
What lush, sexy pleasure machine this is! With an ocean of ripe, very ripe and over cherries, the wine is complicated by black raspberry jam, earth, pepper and herbs. Thick, rich, opulent and intense, with a beautiful sense of purity, this is Southern Rhone, Chateauneuf hedonism at its best.

This belies the lush fruit of the vintage -- for now. Supersilky and perfumy, delivering gorgeous blackberry, Lapsang souchong tea, sandalwood and shiso leaf notes that all glide along fine-grained tannins, with a core of dark plum and blackberry fruit in reserve. Seamless and pure. Should blossom in the cellar.

Even deeper crimson. Meatier, more claret-like than the Croix du Bois 2007. Very intense and serious – a Châteauneuf that almost manages to finish dry! Very well judged tannins, masses of alcohol but overall savoury as well as spicy. More obviously dry fruit (thicker skins) than the Croix du Bois. A massive wine that will repay waiting.

M. Chapoutier
M. Chapoutier

Founded in 1808 in Tain-l'Hermitage, the house of M. Chapoutier is today the leading owner of the Hermitage hill. Since 1990, Michel Chapoutier has cultivated the vines using biodynamic farming and bottles separately the great named plots of the hillside — Le Pavillon, L'Ermite, Le Méal — as single-parcel selections of syrah and marsanne. Since 1996, each label has carried the wine's name in Braille, as a tribute to Maurice Monier de la Sizeranne.

Among the house's great vintages, the 1989 vintage and the 1990 rank among the pinnacles of Hermitage, while the 2003, the 2009 and the 2021 vintage continue this standard of excellence across more recent years. These are wines with exceptional aging potential, to be decanted and served with roasted meat or game.
