2008 Vintage wine

The 2008 vintage, capricious weather throughout France but successful wines

In the Bordeaux region, the unstable climate created disparities in the maturity of the grapes. However, the good weather from mid-September to October favored the harvest. Saint Emilion and Pomerol are the appellations that stand out. For the 2008 vintage, we must therefore focus on the Médoc cru classé such as the Château Haut Brion 2008, La Mission Haut Brion 2008, the Château Montrose 2008, the Château Ausone 2008...

In Burgundy, the 2008 vintage is generally very good. The red wines are fruity and careful. They are generally more pleasant to drink young. The 2008 Champagnes are very successful and have a long aging potential like the Roederer Cristal 2008. The winegrowers of the Rhône valley have also suffered from difficult climatic conditions: wind, rain, hail... They then made a very strict selection during the harvests, to keep only the best of this vintage. As a result, red wines are fine and seductive.
