Tasted alongside the 2009, which had not yet been bottled, I found this 2008 remarkable. It smells of dark fruits, with a refined nose. The palate immediately presents as dense, yet also suave, aromatic and subtle, with great flavor and fine tannins. The texture is equally high-end. Noble and spellbinding finish. A great success.

German Stephan von Neipperg has spared no effort to restore the former glory of this highly reputed château in the years following World War II. Cultivation has become more rigorous, yields have been significantly reduced, and vinification has embraced modern methods, giving the wines remarkable concentration. The château also produces a very expensive and highly sought-after cuvée outside the appellation, called Mondotte.
