Gilbert & Gaillard May - 2012
Gilbert & Gaillard
Deep garnet-red with crimson. Nose of red fruit enhanced by delicate, slightly vegetal oak. Wonderful framework with a full, generous and fruit-driven entry leading into a tannic middle palate driven by oak. Good potential.

A jolly, jammy wine, packed with wood flavors and a soft and rounded character. It has spice, vanilla and red berry flavors. It should develop quickly and be ready to drink by 2016.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The dark ruby-hued 2011 Le Petit Mouton reveals foresty, floral, and berry fruit notes, medium body, and a one-dimensional, but pleasant style. Consume it over the next 10-15 years.

Jancis Robinson October - 2021

Château Mouton Rothschild
Château Mouton Rothschild

Château Mouton Rothschild is one of the most iconic wine estates in the world. Located in the Pauillac appellation, it is the only wine from the official 1855 Bordeaux classification to have been elevated to the rank of Premier Cru Classé in 1973, after having been initially classified as Second Cru.

Acquired in 1853 by Nathaniel de Rothschild, the estate then named Brane-Mouton became Château Mouton Rothschild and entered into legend under the impetus of Baron Philippe de Rothschild. A visionary, he profoundly modernized the vineyard, developed the cellars and imposed absolute quality standards, making Mouton one of the greatest wines of Bordeaux. His motto illustrates this unique ascension: "Premier je suis, second je fus, Mouton ne change".

The singularity of Mouton Rothschild is also expressed through its artistic labels, illustrated each year by renowned contemporary artists, reinforcing its cultural and heritage aura. This quest for excellence is also found in the other properties of the Rothschild family, notably Château Clerc Milon and Château d'Armailhac.

Among the most iconic vintages of Château Mouton Rothschild are:

Château Mouton Rothschild 1945, Château Mouton Rothschild 1946, Château Mouton Rothschild 1947, Château Mouton Rothschild 1982, Château Mouton Rothschild 1986, Château Mouton Rothschild 1989, Château Mouton Rothschild 1993, Château Mouton Rothschild 1995, Château Mouton Rothschild 1996, Château Mouton Rothschild 2000, Château Mouton Rothschild 2005
