Tasting Notes: A moderate year in terms of climate, production volumes, and final quality. Note that there was a morning frost on September 23, and the harvest began on October 1. Some rot was present at the time of picking. The juice was not very promising. It produced wines with a thin texture, but generally homogeneous.

Grape Variety/Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon (~75%), Merlot (~23%), Cabernet Franc (~2%), Petit Verdot (~2%) (variations may occur from one vintage to another)

Aging: The wine is aged in new oak barrels, renewed each year.

Food and Wine Pairing: Château Latour wines pair perfectly with beef, game, and poultry in general. Other dishes include truffle omelette, Pauillac milk-fed lamb, or porcini mushroom ravioli. For cheeses, Maroilles pairs excellently with this red wine.

Château Latour
Château Latour

Château Latour is one of the most emblematic estates of the Pauillac appellation and a founding reference in Bordeaux wine history. Its name appears as early as the 14th century, linked to the presence of a watchtower on the Gironde estuary, whose proximity still profoundly marks the vineyard's identity. From the 18th century onwards, Château Latour wines have been recognized for their consistency and aging potential, establishing themselves among the greatest wines of the Médoc.

Classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé during the official 1855 classification, Château Latour occupies a central place at the top of the Bordeaux hierarchy. The estate is based on a particularly homogeneous terroir of deep gravels, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives the wines a powerful structure, remarkable depth and great regularity of expression.

The signature of Château Latour is distinguished by a dense tannic architecture and demanding construction, favoring precision and longevity rather than immediate seduction. Iconic vintages such as Château Latour 1945, Château Latour 1961, Château Latour 1990, Château Latour 1996, Château Latour 2000 or Château Latour 2009 illustrate the estate's capacity to consistently express the excellence of the Pauillac terroir and the singularity of its style.
