Outstanding. Very dark ruby color, with a garnet hue. Intense aromas of coffee, ripe fruit, flowers and spices. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, fruity, spicy finish.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Medium/full bodied, bright, fresh and juicy, with accents of smoke, truffle, flowers and forest notes that ride along with the red fruits. Soft in texture and volume, the wine is subtle and focuses on its bright red berry filled finish. This is probably at peak.

A pretty, generous wine with ripe plum flavours and supple tannins. Perfect to enjoy now.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The fully mature 1990 Canon reveals a strong earthy, spicy, cedary, herbaceous character accompanied by sweet currants, plums, and hints of dark cherries and cola. It is more superficial than it should be given the greatness of the vineyard, but the tannins have mellowed, and the wine exhibits an attractive expansiveness.

Château Canon

Château Canon is a 34-hectare wine estate located in Saint-Emilion in the Gironde department. Classified as a Premier grand cru classé B in the Saint-Emilion classification, Château Canon was one of the first estates in the Bordeaux region where the vineyard held a primary place. Despite being a neighbor of Ausone and a 1er grand cru, the wine has never reached the level one might expect from it.

The acquisition of Château Canon in 1996 by the Chanel company has nevertheless given a second wind to this growth. Indeed, significant investments, particularly in the winery, have improved the quality of the wine. Château Canon is known for its meticulous selection of grapes in three stages, and there is no doubt that the work undertaken by the estate will increasingly bear fruit.
