Wine Spectator November - 1998

This has always been one of the great wines of the vintage and one of the greatest ever produced at this estate. Seriously dark ruby in color, with blackberry, earth and fresh floral aromas. Full-bodied, with full silky tannins and thick, ripe fruit. Still needs time.

Jean-Marc Quarin October - 1991

Blood red color, dark with ruby ??and vermilion reflections. Clean, very intense nose. Fruity and powerful. Then note a little less fine. With a clean, very intense agitation. Powerful and animal. Soft and supple attack. Development on a fleshy, velvety structure. Very supple intensity in the mid-palate. Slow evolution on a very well balanced and fruity, liquorice and complex tannin which gives energy to the finish and breaks a slight softness effect. Very long textured and racy persistence. A great wine that is both supple and concentrated, all on the finish. Too bad it's not the nose of the 85!

Château Canon

The Château Canon is a french estate located in Saint Emilion in Gironde. It is a First classified growth B.

The Château Canon was one of the first castles of Bordeaux, where the vines was a main square. Neighbor Ausone or The Canon Gaffeliere, wine, yet the first vintage, never reached the level that could be expected of him. The acquisition of Chateau Canon 1996 by the Chanel nevertheless gave new life to this wine. Indeed, major investments, particularly in the cellar have improved the quality of wine. Château Canon is known for its careful selection of grains in three stages and no doubt the work begun by the field will increasingly fruitful. Taste therefore preferably recent years to take the full measure of the uniqueness of Château Canon.
