Château Canon is a 34-hectare wine estate located in Saint-Emilion in Gironde. Classified as Premier grand cru classé B in the Saint Emilion classification, Château Canon was one of the first estates in Bordeaux where the vineyard held a main place. Neighbor of Ausone, the wine, despite being a 1st grand cru, has never reached the level that could be expected of it. The vineyard extends over no less than 32 hectares of vines planted on clay-limestone soil. The estate cultivates 2 red grape varieties: Merlot (70%), and Cabernet Franc (30%).

The acquisition of Château Canon in 1996 by Chanel company nevertheless gave a second wind to this growth. Indeed, large investments, particularly in the wine storehouse, have improved the quality of the wine. Château Canon is known for its meticulous three-step grape selection, and there is no doubt that the work undertaken by the estate will increasingly bear fruit.

The best vintages of Château Canon are 1945, 1949 and the 1982 vintage. We also recommend Château Canon 1971 and Canon 1985, as well as Château Canon 2009.
