Dark red color. Strangely evolved. Nose of medium intensity. Hint of milk caramel and fruit. Soft attack, developing on a slightly fluid but fruity structure. The texture lacks substance in the mid-palate. Aromatic tannins but without structure on the finish. Lacks consistency for the year. That said, when tasting the 55 today, which only vatted for eight days, one can wonder. The terroir may regain the upper hand.

Château Canon

Château Canon is a 34-hectare wine estate located in Saint-Emilion in the Gironde department. Classified as a Premier grand cru classé B in the Saint-Emilion classification, Château Canon was one of the first estates in the Bordeaux region where the vineyard held a primary place. Despite being a neighbor of Ausone and a 1er grand cru, the wine has never reached the level one might expect from it.

The acquisition of Château Canon in 1996 by the Chanel company has nevertheless given a second wind to this growth. Indeed, significant investments, particularly in the winery, have improved the quality of the wine. Château Canon is known for its meticulous selection of grapes in three stages, and there is no doubt that the work undertaken by the estate will increasingly bear fruit.
