Aromas of raspberry and citrus, with just a hint of sweet tobacco. Full-bodied, with a solid core of fruit and a caressing, layered tannin structure. Very well made. Excellent.

Herbs and ripe black fruit flavors are given shape by the tannins that go straight through the wine. The aftertaste has great acidity.

Cedar wood, earth, tobacco and some cassis are found in this developed perfume. On the palate, the wine serves up soft and cassis and black cherry notes. This is drinking in the sweet spot today. It might improve, but it’s not a wine to age for decades, I’d opt to start drinking it now

Dark and intense color. Similar nose between the decanted and non-decanted wine: fruity, coffee note, wood. The decanted wine is far superior to the non-decanted wine which lacks expression in the second part of the palate. Quite ample, caressing, the wine finishes a bit lively in the finish

Château Leoville Las Cases
Château Leoville Las Cases

Château Léoville Las Cases is one of the most emblematic estates of the Saint-Julien appellation, recognized for the precision, depth and longevity of its wines. Classified as Second Grand Cru Classé in 1855, it has distinguished itself for over a century through a level of excellence and quality consistency that places it at the top of the Médoc hierarchy.

Originating from the former Léoville estate, the Château Léoville Las Cases vineyard is today protected by a historic enclosure, a rare singularity in Bordeaux, guaranteeing a strong parcel identity. Located immediately bordering the Gironde, facing the great terroirs of Pauillac, the estate benefits from a privileged environment, conducive to slow and homogeneous ripening of the grapes.

The blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and Cabernet Franc, gives the wines a deep structure and remarkable aging potential. Among the iconic vintages are Château Léoville Las Cases 1945, Château Léoville Las Cases 1982, Château Léoville Las Cases 1990, Château Léoville Las Cases 1986, Château Léoville Las Cases 2000, Château Léoville Las Cases 2005, Château Léoville Las Cases 2014., regularly praised for their balance and evolution potential. The estate also produces a renowned second wine, Clos du Marquis, offering a more accessible interpretation of the Las Cases style.
