Tom Cannavan January - 2004
Tom Cannavan
A classy minty blackcurrant nose with black fruits and tobacco on the palate. Dense, firm with green edges. Fine early drinking wine.

Jean-Marc Quarin October - 1995
Jean-Marc Quarin
Bordeaux red color. Good intensity. Slight evolution. Bright. Nose of good intensity. Fruity. Animal and toasted. On swirling, a more dead-leaf nuance. Soft attack. Round structure, quite fresh with savory tannicity, and rather refined. The evolution is very well balanced with a certain suppleness. Fruity and fresh flavor. Medium persistence. Much frankness and an evident pleasure from today.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
An impressive 1992, Clos du Marquis, the second wine of Leoville Las-Cases, exhibits excellent ripeness, medium body, and plenty of richness in a soft, forward style. The finish boasts impressive depth and persistence, with no harshness.

Château Leoville Las Cases
Château Leoville Las Cases

Château Léoville Las Cases is one of the most iconic estates in the Saint-Julien appellation, renowned for the precision, depth, and longevity of its wines. Classified as a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé in 1855, it has distinguished itself for over a century through an uncompromising level of quality and consistency that places it at the very top of the Médoc hierarchy.

Originating from the former Léoville estate, the Château Léoville Las Cases vineyard is today protected by a historic walled enclosure — a rare distinction in Bordeaux — ensuring a strong parcel-specific identity. Located directly on the banks of the Gironde, facing the great terroirs of Pauillac, the estate benefits from a privileged environment conducive to the slow and even ripening of the grapes.

The Grand Vin, often austere in its youth, requires many years of cellaring and boasts numerous highlights: the 1982 vintage, 1990, and the 1996 vintage among the great classics, 2000, the 2005 wine, and the 2010 vintage for the more recent period. Alongside it, the Clos du Marquis, a wine in its own right from neighboring plots, and Le Petit Lion, a more approachable second wine, complete the estate's range.
