Tom Cannavan January - 2004
Tom Cannavan
Intense dark core with youthful rim. Aromas of earth, cooked meat and black fruits. Concentrated palate. Medium bodied for Latour. Firm tannins. Balanced. Moderate complexity. Minerally. Quite lush on the finish. Superb for the 1993 vintage. Tasted at the château.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Intense dark core with youthful rim. Aromas of damp earth, cooked meats and blackberry. Medium-bodied with firm tannins. Balanced with moderate complexity. A little abrupt on the finish. A superior 1993, although not my favourite off-vintage Latour.

Château Latour
Château Latour

Château Latour is one of the most emblematic estates of the Pauillac appellation and a founding reference in Bordeaux wine history. Its name appears as early as the 14th century, linked to the presence of a watchtower on the Gironde estuary, whose proximity still profoundly marks the vineyard's identity. From the 18th century onwards, Château Latour wines have been recognized for their consistency and aging potential, establishing themselves among the greatest wines of the Médoc.

Classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé during the official 1855 classification, Château Latour occupies a central place at the top of the Bordeaux hierarchy. The estate is based on a particularly homogeneous terroir of deep gravels, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives the wines a powerful structure, remarkable depth and great regularity of expression.

The signature of Château Latour is distinguished by a dense tannic architecture and demanding construction, favoring precision and longevity rather than immediate seduction. Iconic vintages such as Château Latour 1945, Château Latour 1961, Château Latour 1990, Château Latour 1996, Château Latour 2000 or Château Latour 2009 illustrate the estate's capacity to consistently express the excellence of the Pauillac terroir and the singularity of its style.
