A convincing 1967 vintage in Bordeaux red and also in Château Latour 1967. The Premier Cru Classé develops a nose of cedar, caramel and gourmand. On the palate, the wine is harmonious and concentrated. Very balanced, with melted and ripe tannins. A mature wine that can be tasted or stored.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
I had high hopes of this wine that Parker describes as possibly the best of the vintage: and he was right. A deep garnet colour with a youthful, slightly auburn rim. The nose impresses the most: not complex but very well-defined, fresh, dominated by cedar and a touch of pencil-lead. The palate is foursquare, showing great definition at the beginning with fresh acidity and unbelievable youth, redolent of a 10 year old wine. Does not have the complexity of a usual Latour and is short on the finish, but the wine is well-balanced and a joy to drink. Certainly better than Haut-Brion 1967.

Beautiful garnet color. No signs of evolution. Quite aromatic nose with notes of leather and undergrowth. Palate where acidity dominates without disturbing the balance too much. Very good length. This wine lacks body, it's the vintage effect, but it is fine, elegant and all in all; very pleasant for a 1967.

Mature now, this silky wine offers raisin, tobacco, mineral and slightly gamy flavors, and turns a bit dry on the finish.

For me, the star of the evening. So complete, so much at the height of its powers, so dense yet fresh.I couldn't help thinking of that ad for menthol cigarettes – 'pure as mountain stream' was the slogan, wasn't it? Sweet and richly flattering without being remotely heavy. It's possible that in bottle sizes this wine is much more developed.

Château Latour
Château Latour

Château Latour is a Bordeaux wine estate that produces wines under the Pauillac appellation. Premier Cru Classé in the Official Classification of Bordeaux wines created in 1855. It is undoubtedly a reference in the Médoc.

Created around 1680, the Château Latour vineyard is one of the oldest in the Médoc. At the heart of the estate, the main plot, named "l'Enclos", consists of 47 hectares of old vines that are preciously maintained, as they are the only ones capable of giving birth to the "Grand Vin". The 18 hectares of external plots, the vines less than 10 years old, and any declassified cuvées produce the estate's second wine, "Les Forts de Latour". Château Latour wine is an example of consistency regardless of the quality of the vintage. Firm, tannic and concentrated in its youth...

Latour is the very example of excellence, in both good and bad years. Among the greatest vintages, the château's finest achievements: 1920, 1929, 1949, 1955, 1959, 1961, 1970, 1982, 1990, 2000.
