 The 1992 La Turque reveals blackcurrant, licorice, and pain grille-like notes in its sweet, penetrating aromatic profile. It is amazing how this wine has gained weight and richness in cask. It has turned out to be a profound, sweet, rich, opulently styled wine with no harshness or vegetal aspects. There are layers of silky black fruit gently infused with smoky toast. The wine's low acidity and up-front, forward nature suggest it can be drunk now as well as over the next 12-15 years.

Unfiltered, medium garnet color. Clean, fully developed nose with some green, unripe notes (stems), spices. Deep, but not very appealing. On the palate dry, good acidity, a bit unbalanced. Some lovage, ripe, spices, green and harsh notes. Cool, some menthol, meagre. Medium length. Drink up, no potential. Certainly one of the weaker vintages. Better than the La Landonne.

The Domaine E. Guigal stands as one of the absolute references of the Rhône Valley, both northern and southern. Founded in 1946 in Ampuis by Étienne Guigal, this family estate built its reputation on a demanding interpretation of terroirs and a constant pursuit of excellence. Today led by Marcel and Philippe Guigal, the domaine embodies a heritage-driven vision of fine wine, recognized on an international scale.

Historically based in Ampuis, Maison Guigal vinifies and ages in its cellars all the great northern Rhône appellations, among which Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage. The same site also oversees the aging of iconic southern appellations such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas, ensuring perfect mastery of the aging process and a coherent stylistic identity.

Closely associated with Côte-Rôtie, where it produces some of the most iconic cuvées of the Rhône, Domaine E. Guigal distinguishes itself with wines of remarkable depth and longevity. Dominant Syrah, a touch of Viognier on the Côte Blonde, patient aging: the style combines depth and freshness and rewards those who wait. The estate's great vintages range from the 1988 wine to the 1999 vintage, including the Ex-Voto from 2003, through to the more recent 2016, 2017 wine and 2018.
