(01-1997) The 1992 La Turque reveals blackcurrant, licorice, and pain grille-like notes in its sweet, penetrating aromatic profile. It is amazing how this wine has gained weight and richness in cask. It has turned out to be a profound, sweet, rich, opulently styled wine with no harshness or vegetal aspects. There are layers of silky black fruit gently infused with smoky toast. The wine's low acidity and up-front, forward nature suggest it can be drunk now as well as over the next 12-15 years.

The Maison GUIGAL vinifies and ages in its cellars, in Ampuis, the northern appellations of the Rhône Valley which are Côte-RôtieCondrieuHermitageSaint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage. The aging of the southern appellations Châteauneuf-du-PapeGigondas, Tavel and Côtes-du-Rhône is also assured in the Ampuis cellars.

The Hermitage 'Ex-Voto' is produced in the greatest vintages while the Saint-Joseph 'Lieu-Dit Saint-Joseph' in white and red and the famous Saint-Joseph red 'Vignes de l'Hospice' constitute references for this Appellation.

Among the jewels of the Domaine Guigal there are the inevitable Côte Rôtie "La Landonne", "La Turque" and "La Mouline". Known throughout the world, wine lovers of the Rhône are tearing themselves away. Some great vintages: 19781982198519881989199119951997199920032005
