Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
This is a bloody good wine considering the vintage. A deep garnet core with youthful, ruby rim. The compelling high-toned, almost gregarious nose is appealing with touches of menthol, blackberry and iodine. Medium-bodied on the palate with a soft entry, the new oak not quite as well assimilated into the fabric of the wine as great vintages, yet harmonious and silky smooth towards the finish, which is understated and comes with a tang of blueberry to bid you adieu. Very fine, a great success.

Lighter in character than most La Landonnes, this shows plum flavors and spice and licorice accents.

Relatively light nose. Lovely dense smooth texture on the palate. Quite advanced for Landonne. Silky texture. Very suave. Long and treacly. Complete.

Domaine Guigal
Domaine Guigal

The Domaine E. Guigal stands as one of the absolute references of the Rhône Valley, both northern and southern. Founded in 1946 in Ampuis by Étienne Guigal, the family estate has built its reputation on an exacting interpretation of terroirs and a constant pursuit of excellence. Today led by Marcel and Philippe Guigal, the domaine embodies a heritage vision of great wine, recognized on an international scale.

Historically based in Ampuis, Maison Guigal vinifies and ages in its cellars all the great northern Rhône appellations, including Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage. This same site also ensures the aging of emblematic southern appellations such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, guaranteeing perfect mastery of aging and a coherent stylistic identity.

Closely associated with Côte-Rôtie, where it produces some of the most iconic cuvées of the Rhône, Domaine E. Guigal distinguishes itself with wines of remarkable depth and longevity. Vintages that have become references, such as Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Turque 1985, Guigal La Landonne 1990, Guigal La Landonne 1989, Guigal Hermitage Ex-Voto 2003, Guigal La Mouline 1999, Guigal La Landonne 1989, Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Mouline 2010, Guigal La Mouline 2018 testify to the qualitative consistency and exceptional aging potential of the estate.
