CHÂTEAU MARGAUX 1899

1899 and 1900 constitute a fabulous pair of vintages, which will only be found in 1928-1929 and 1989-1990. This vintage of remarkable quality has fallen somewhat into the shadow of 1900, which was immediately more powerful and carried a more symbolic figure...

Château Margaux 1899 is a wine of great harmony, extreme finesse and surprising freshness. It is less powerful than the 1900, but its bouquet is at least as complex and elegant. This wine has an extraordinary smoothness and delicacy on the palate.

Château Margaux

Château Margaux is one of the most prestigious estates of the Margaux appellation and a major historical figure of Bordeaux excellence. Classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé during the official 1855 classification, the château relies on a terroir of fine and deep gravels that favors the expression of a wine of rare elegance and great aromatic complexity.

The Grand Vin of Château Margaux has been recognized since the 17th century as one of the most accomplished expressions of the Bordeaux vineyard. It owes its qualities to the combination of an exceptional terroir, demanding viticulture and vinification work oriented towards precision and balance. Tannic finesse, aromatic depth, freshness and length on the palate constitute the constant markers of the Margaux style.

Iconic vintages such as Château Margaux 1899, Château Margaux 1949, Château Margaux 1953, Château Margaux 1982, Château Margaux 1990, Château Margaux 1990, Château Margaux 2000 or the iconic Château Margaux 2015 illustrate the estate's capacity to produce wines of great complexity, capable of evolving harmoniously over several decades, while maintaining a remarkable readability of their terroir.
