CHÂTEAU MARGAUX 1992

The 1992 vintage was quite unpredictable and complicated in the Bordeaux wine region. It is partly the know-how of the Château Margaux winegrowers and a strict selection during the harvest that made it possible to produce a great Château Margaux 1992.
Château Margaux 1992 has a lot of charm and finesse on the nose. On the palate, tenderness and finesse, this Premier Cru Classé ends on a very sweet note. It is a harmonious and elegant wine, which can be tasted now or in several years.

Jean-Marc Quarin June - 2017

(121994) The 1992 Margaux displays an impressively saturated, dark rubypurple color, and a fragrant bouquet of cassis, vanillin, and floral scents. The wine is smooth, supple, wonderfully ripe, and seductive, with medium body, low acidity, and light tannin in the finish. It is drinking extremely well. Some tasters will no doubt rate it even higher than I have, given its elegance and layers of ripe, generous fruit that are presented in a medium-bodied format.

Élégant mais léger pour un Château Margaux. Arômes et saveurs frais et délicieux de cerise noire et de framboise, corps moyen à léger, tanins fermes et finale légère.

Château Margaux

Château Margaux is one of the largest wine estates in Bordeaux. In AOC, Margaux appears in the first classified growths of the official classification of Médoc wines of 1855.

If it is a privilege to bear the name of its Margaux appellation, there is no doubt that Château Margaux does it great honor.

For several centuries, this Premier Cru Classé has expressed to the highest degree the exceptional qualities of terroirs patiently brought together by several generations of owners. Maintained and harvested exclusively by hand with extreme care, the 78 hectares of vines (75% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 5% Cabernet-Franc and Petit-Verdot) draw their richness very deeply from the soil. clayey-gravelly, particularly dense and thick.

Fermentation in oak vats, after which the wine is strictly selected, is followed by 18 to 24 months of aging in new oak barrels. A masterpiece among the Bordeaux wines, the best according to some, Château Margaux reveals finesse and opulence, depth and complexity on tasting, and develops a bouquet of rare elegance of rose, violet, black fruits, under -taut by tight tannins that require patient aging before blossoming. The château also produces a second wine, Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux, and a dry white wine, Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux (100% Sauvignon Blanc).

Best vintages of Château Margaux are : 1900, 1928, 1953, 1982, 1983, 1986, 1989, 1990
