CHÂTEAU MARGAUX 1992

The 1992 vintage was quite unpredictable and complicated in the Bordeaux wine region. It is partly the know-how of the Château Margaux winegrowers and a strict selection during the harvest that made it possible to produce a great Château Margaux 1992.
Château Margaux 1992 has a lot of charm and finesse on the nose. On the palate, tenderness and finesse, this Premier Cru Classé ends on a very sweet note. It is a harmonious and elegant wine, which can be tasted now or in several years.

Jean-Marc Quarin June - 2017

On paper, it should have been crushed and yet. One day Paul Pontallier confided in me that he regretted making this wine, which I have often found too light and yet... Dark color, moderately intense and evolved. Intense, fine, fruity and licorice nose. Mellow entry on the palate and the wine melts on the palate, flavorful, even if after the middle, it shows a little more grip than usual. And yet the aroma is there.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The 1992 Margaux displays an impressively saturated, dark rubypurple color, and a fragrant bouquet of cassis, vanillin, and floral scents. The wine is smooth, supple, wonderfully ripe, and seductive, with medium body, low acidity, and light tannin in the finish. It is drinking extremely well. Some tasters will no doubt rate it even higher than I have, given its elegance and layers of ripe, generous fruit that are presented in a medium-bodied format.

Elegant but light for Château Margaux. Fresh and delicious black cherry and raspberry aromas and flavors, medium-to-light body, firm tannins and light finish.

Château Margaux
Château Margaux

Château Margaux is one of the most prestigious estates of the Margaux appellation and a major historical figure of Bordeaux excellence. Classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé during the official 1855 classification, the château relies on a terroir of fine and deep gravels that favors the expression of a wine of rare elegance and great aromatic complexity.

The Grand Vin of Château Margaux has been recognized since the 17th century as one of the most accomplished expressions of the Bordeaux vineyard. It owes its qualities to the combination of an exceptional terroir, demanding viticulture and vinification work oriented towards precision and balance. Tannic finesse, aromatic depth, freshness and length on the palate constitute the constant markers of the Margaux style.

Iconic vintages such as Château Margaux 1899, Château Margaux 1949, Château Margaux 1953, Château Margaux 1982, Château Margaux 1990, Château Margaux 1990, Château Margaux 2000 or the iconic Château Margaux 2015 illustrate the estate's capacity to produce wines of great complexity, capable of evolving harmoniously over several decades, while maintaining a remarkable readability of their terroir.
